I’ll Concede Edo Election Under One Condition-Ighodalo

Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate for the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, has pledged to accept defeat gracefully if the election is lost fairly.

Speaking during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Ighodalo expressed confidence in his chances of winning but emphasized that the decision ultimately rests with the people of Edo State.

He encouraged residents to participate in the voting process, assuring them of their safety at the polls.

He said, “The first question my daughter asked me the day I told her I am conceding. She said daddy you are not used to losing. I don’t think you have ever lost. If you lose this, how will you take it?

“Honesty if we lose this election and we know we lost it fairly and squarely, I will be the first to concede. But I know we cannot lose this election if the playing field is levelled. We cannot lose this election.

“We have related well with the people of Edo State. We told the people of Edo State what we will do for them and they trust us. They will vote for us. I know at a level playing field, we will win.”
