Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed Calls Nyesom Wike ‘Frustrated Politician’ Over Threats To PDP States

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has criticized Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, referring to him as a “frustrated politician.”

Mohammed’s remarks were in response to Wike’s recent threat to “put fire” in states governed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after several governors expressed solidarity with Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

This follows the PDP Governors’ Forum’s condemnation of Wike’s threat.

During a meeting with members of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) in Bauchi on Tuesday, Mohammed dismissed Wike’s comments, asserting that disagreements within the party are never personal and should not be misconstrued.

He also emphasized Bauchi’s resilience in the face of any potential challenges.

“Nobody can set Bauchi on fire. Bauchi has enough water to put out any fire,” Mohammed said, downplaying Wike’s threat. He reaffirmed his friendship with Wike while describing him as “frustrated” but made it clear that their disagreements were not personal.

“My friend remains my friend, my work is my work, and leadership remains leadership,” he added.

The governor also stressed the importance of party unity to prevent the collapse of the PDP, which he credited with driving much of the country’s development.

PDP National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade Adeyemi, SAN, assured the governor of the NWC’s support, stating, “Whatever steps the Governors’ Forum takes, we, as the National Working Committee, will always be ready to implement them.”
