Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has called on the newly-elected State Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP to bring in more members into the big umbrella, insignia of The PDP through their people oriented services, he stated this while addressing the State Party Congress which culminated into the election of new executive of the party at Uyo Township Stadium over the
weekend.
The governor congratulated Elder Aniekan Akpan Who was re-elected State Chairman and his executive for their successful election calling on them to perform better than the previous executive committee. He promised to continue to lead the state with integrity and honesty as the leader of the party, emphasizing that his administration will continue to be responsive and responsible while continuing to galvanise the youths as well as other Akwa Ibomites to arise.
Governor Eno applauded the hard work and diligent service of the immediate past party exco which as a result led the party to victory in various elections during their tenure, he specifically thanked the immediate past governor, Udom Emmanuel for bringing his leadership prowess to bear in ensuring his emergence as governor and taking part in the just concluded congress. He appreciated representatives from the National Secretariat of The PDP and the Congress Organizing Committee led by Engr Uwem Okoko, for a well-organised congress.
The State Chief Executive noted that the Congress marks a new dawn for the party, calling on all party members to support the new exco for them to succeed in the task of taking the party to greater heights beginning with the forthcoming October 5 Local
Government Election. Other officers elected into the state Exco of the party includes Harrison Ekpo, Deputy Chairman; Ibanga Brownson, Secretary; and Augustine Akpan, Inemesit Itina, and Barr. Ekpong Edemumoh as Vice Chairmen I, II, and III, Mmeme Akpabio, Effiong Emah, Emmanuel Mbong, Edwin Ebiese, Barr. Ekemini Uba, Andy Ekitok, Inibehe Silas, and Ubong Effiong, as Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Organising Secretary, Publicity Secretary, Legal Adviser, Auditor, Woman Leader, and Youth Leader, respectively.
