Again, Gunshots Fired Near Donald Trump At Golf Club

Gunshots were fired on Sunday near former President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump while he was at his golf club.

Trump’s Campaign Communications Director, Steven Cheung, confirmed that the former president is safe. “President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time,” the statement read.

According to reports this marks the second recent incident involving gunfire near Trump as the 2024 presidential race intensifies. In July, Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt during a campaign rally.

In that attack, a gunman fired at Trump, wounding him in the right ear. The assailant was shot and killed by a Secret Service sniper within 30 seconds of firing eight rounds.

Two attendees were seriously injured, and a 50-year-old firefighter from Pennsylvania was killed in the assault.

The July attack occurred around 6:00 p.m. when the gunman, positioned on a nearby rooftop, used an AR-style rifle to target Trump during his speech. Secret Service agents quickly evacuated Trump from the stage.
