Rich Homie Quan, Atlanta Rapper, Found Dead, Family Awaits Autopsy

Atlanta-based rapper Dequantes Lamar, better known by his stage name Rich Homie Quan, was found dead on Thursday, September 5, 2024.

The 33-year-old musician, who rose to fame in the early 2010s, was pronounced deceased at Grady Memorial Hospital.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the death but has not yet released details regarding the cause or manner of death. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

Quan, born on October 4, 1989, in Atlanta, was a prominent figure in the trap music scene. He collaborated with numerous high-profile artists, including Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, YG, Young Thug, and Trinidad James.

His breakout hit, “Type of Way,” reached No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2013, propelling him to stardom. Quan was widely recognized for his raw energy and emotional delivery, which resonated with fans and cemented his place in the hip-hop landscape.
