… welcome hundreds of decampees

As the gubernatorial election in Edo State draws closer, Governor Godwin Obaseki led the campaign train of The Peoples Democratic Party PDP candidate Asue Ighodalo, and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie to Agenebode, The Headquarters of
Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State, the event took place at The Ogbaki Primary School, Agenebode.
Addressing a mammoth crowd, Obaseki emphasized the need for a capable leader to manage its affairs. Governor Obaseki said that going by the the present realities of suffering and hunger in Nigeria today, it would be a great disaster to elect a mediocre as governor of Edo State, as the state is presently benefiting from good governance which should be sustained.
“That is why I brought Ighodalo and Ogie to continue the good work,” “Asue Ighodalo is not a push-and-start candidate.” Obaseki said.
The governor assured the people of the completion of The School of Agriculture (Fishery and Aquaculture), who’s foundation he had already laid by Igholado when he resumes as The State Chief Executive.
“He will continue with the project and complete it for the people of Etsako East,” Obaseki said, emphasizing that for development to continue in Edo State, continuity in government is necessary, he affirmed that the duo of Ighodalo and Ogie were the best choices for that continuity.
Ighodalo in his speech thanked the crowd for their love and support, promising that if elected, all ongoing projects would be completed, and more would be initiated. He promised to create wealth for the people from the riverine zone between Illushi in Esan South East and Agenebode along the River Niger by developing the blue economy potential of the region, urging the crowd to come out in their numbers to cast their votes on September 21for PDP.
The PDP Chapter Chairman in the Local Government Area welcomed the team to his domain, he assured them of their support and votes noting that would not be intimidated and are prepared to “cage the lions and tigers” on election day.
The Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council Hon. Mrs. Benedicta Attoh, assured the governor that Etsako East was a “done deal” for the PDP.
Tony Aziegbemi, The Edo State PDP Chairman in his speech thanked the people for their support and welcomed hundreds of defectors from the APC.
One of the decampees, Braimoh Benjamin, a former APC member from Ward said they were in the PDP to deliver Ighodalo as governor on September 21, noting that Ighodalo was more capable than any other candidate.
Collins, another decampee said he left the APC because of their “lies” and recognized PDP as the light and way forward for the people of Edo State.
