PDP Summon Nyesom Wike Over Alleged Anti Party Activities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has summoned former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, over alleged anti-party activities.

The party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, announced this on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program.

Wike has been asked to appear before the PDP disciplinary committee, led by Chief Tom Ikimi, to address petitions regarding anti-party activities and sabotage during the primary elections.

Abdullahi stated that Wike’s recent statement about “putting fire in their states” regarding PDP governors was unacceptable and disappointing.

This development comes after Wike expressed his happiness serving in the Bola Tinubu administration, despite criticism, and threatened to cause a political crisis in states of PDP governors supporting Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.

“The disciplinary committee will look into issues of anti-party activities. We’ve been receiving petitions regarding anti-party activities or sabotaging the party throughout the primary, leading to where we are now. These petitions against Wike and other party members have been aggregated and sent to the committee.

“Some party members even felt that Wike shouldn’t have gotten to this level still as a member of the PDP and they have been writing to the leadership.”

Wike also told critics to “go and hug a transformer” if they were unhappy with his position in the government.”
