“Rivers LG Election Will Establish a People-Oriented Political Structure” – Gov. Fubara

Gov. Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has stated that the upcoming local government election on October 5 will create a new political structure that prioritizes the interests of the people.

This was revealed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, following Fubara’s reception of members from ‘The Simplicity Movement’ at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

The group was led by Chief Sobomabo Jackrich, a 2023 gubernatorial candidate under the National Rescue Movement (NRM).

Acknowledging the group’s public support, Gov. Fubara affirmed his commitment to upholding the state’s integrity amidst current political challenges.

“We must defend the dignity of our state and ensure that the commonwealth benefits all,” Fubara emphasized. “Our slogan, ‘Rivers First,’ reflects our commitment to putting the state’s interests above personal gains, addressing issues like crime, hunger, and unemployment.”

He also encouraged the electorate to actively participate in the election, noting that the outcome would guide the next phase of his administration’s efforts.
