Insecurity in N’ West: Matawalle, CDS, Other Service Chiefs To Relocate To Sokoto

Following  an increase  in terrorist and bandit activities ravaging Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, and Kebbi States.in Dr. Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, has expressed grave concerns  and consequently  directed the Chief of Defence Staff and other high-ranking military officials to relocate to Sokoto to bolster efforts in combating these security threats.

In a statement from Henshaw Ogubike, the Director of Information and Public Relations, this move reinforces  the government’s commitment to restoring peace and security in the affected region. The Minister, along with military leaders, are expected to oversee operations targeting the criminal activities of groups like Bello Turji and his associates.

Dr. Matawalle emphasized the government’s deep concern regarding the ongoing issues of banditry and terrorism in the North West. He pledged to allocate the necessary resources to protect communities and called on the Armed Forces to increase their efforts to dismantle the foundations of these criminal organizations.
