Ahead Edo Guber Election ,Obaseki’s Wife Kickstarts PDP Women’s Campaign

Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, wife of The Edo State governor inaugurated the women campaign of The PDP over the weekend, The Chairperson of the PDP Women Campaign Council,  Betty Obaseki performed the launching ceremony in Uromi, Esan North-East local government area which witnessed Women Leaders and members of the party from Esan North-East and Esan South-East local government areas of the state gathering with enthusiasm.

The First Lady  expressed her gratitude for the support PDP garnered in the area during the 2020 governorship election, acknowledging the women’s crucial role in securing Governor Obaseki’s second term.

“You stood firm in 2020, ensuring Governor Obaseki’s re-election, especially during challenging times. I’m here to thank you on behalf of the Governor and myself. The First Lady  said.

She used the occasion to introduce the wife of the governorship candidate of the PDP, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Asue Ighodalo, describing her as the incoming First Lady of the State.

An elated Mrs. Ighodalo promised to build on the achievements of the current administration with a renewed  focus on women empowerment in agriculture.

“We aim to make Edo State a leader in women’s agricultural participation.”  She said.

The Women Leaders of the party in the two local government areas were full of praises for who  Mrs Obaseki for her advancements for women in the state, noting

that her efforts have brought inclusion to the women of the state after elections, they gave kudos to the PDP for their choice of candidate who has character , competence and capacity.
