Lagos BRT Accident Leaves Many Injured

Many sustained injuries, as a tragic accident occurred early Friday morning on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, near Iyana-Ipaja.

A fully loaded high-capacity bus (BRT) overturned on its side within the dedicated bus lane, causing significant disruption to traffic.

Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, providing medical assistance to the injured and transporting them to nearby hospitals.

However, the cause of the accident is currently under investigation.

In addition to the bus accident, another incident occurred on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway at Durbar Junction. A loaded truck overturned, completely blocking the road inward to Alakija. This has led to severe traffic congestion, with authorities diverting vehicles through the service lane from Orile.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area if possible and to exercise caution while driving.

As investigations into both accidents continue, authorities are working to clear the affected roads and restore normal traffic flow.
