President Tinubu To Return From France For CJN Inauguration

President Bola Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria today, August 22, after a brief trip to France.

His prompt return is to enable him to preside over the inauguration of Justice Kudirat -Ekun as the new Chief Justice of NiKekeregeria (CJN) on Friday.

According to Presidency sources, President Tinubu considers this swearing-in ceremony a historic responsibility and a constitutional duty.

The National Judicial Council recently recommended Justice Kekere-Ekun to succeed outgoing CJN, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who will formally step down today.

Justice Kekere-Ekun has a distinguished judicial career, beginning as a Senior Magistrate II in Lagos State Judiciary in 1996.

She rose through the ranks, serving as Chairman of the Robbery and Firearms Tribunal and later as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria since 2013.
