Chidimma Adetshina Lands In Nigeria For Miss Universe Nigeria Pageant

Chidimma Adetshina has returned to her father’s country of origin to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria competition, following a 20-year hiatus.

The previous contestant for Miss South Africa said she was eager to get back in touch with her roots and experience Nigerian culture.

She claims that she is committed to taking home the title and using it as a platform to showcase diversity and advance togetherness.

Her participation in the pageant comes after she was forced to withdraw from the Miss South Africa competition due to a nationality dispute and xenophobic attacks.

She will represent Taraba State as Contestant Number 25 in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, with the grand finale scheduled for August 31, 2024, at the Eko Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.

She said: “I’m just thrilled to be back in my father’s land after 20 years,” Chidimma shared with the press.

“I’m eager to immerse myself in the culture and learn more about where I truly come from. My goal is obviously to win the crown.

“As someone who has faced adversity, I want to use my story to bring people together. We should value diversity and celebrate our differences—it’s the key to building a stronger community where everyone is recognised and appreciated.”
