Janne Andersson Inch Closer To Becoming Super Eagles Coach

Former Sweden national team manager, Janne Andersson, is on the brink of becoming the new coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, according to reports from SCORENigeria.

The 61-year-old tactician, renowned for leading Sweden to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, has reportedly been chosen by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to replace Finidi George.

This unexpected appointment marks a significant departure from the previously considered candidates.

Andersson would be the second Swedish coach to helm the Super Eagles, following in the footsteps of Lars Lagerback.

While his lack of African football experience is evident, the NFF is clearly impressed by his proven managerial ability and track record of success.

An official announcement from the NFF is imminent, according to sources. Andersson’s immediate challenge will be to guide Nigeria through the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
