Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) spokesperson Olufemi Soneye revealed that the company reduced its stake in Dangote refinery to focus on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) investment. NNPC limited its stake to 7.2% to build CNG stations nationwide.

Soneye addressed allegations of sabotage against Dangote refinery on Berekete Family Radio. He emphasized NNPC’s investment in CNG due to its affordability and cleaner energy potential.

“The reason for reducing our stake in Dangote refinery is because we wanted to invest in CNG… We observed that CNG is very cheap and all over the world, people are investing in clean and cheaper alternative energy.”
