Ada- Anioma, Kidnapped Ex Commissioner Regains Freedom In Delta

The Police Command in Delta State has confirmed the release of Hon Joan Onyemaechi also known as Ada-Anioma, an Ex- Commissioner in Delta State after nine days of anxiety and uncertainty, The politician was abducted in her church in Asaba, the state capital.

However,The PPRO of The Command,  Bright Edafe, did not confirm the release of the politician but the news of her freedom  was widely reported in the media.

The  female politician is said to be receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in the state as  jubilation erupted in her country home of Ubuluku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.

When contacted, The PPRO had this to say, “The story/report is not confirmed”

It could not be confirmed if any ransom had been paid to the kidnappers before her release, but it was reported that the kidnappers demanded a whooping N1b before her release, a claim the police could not confirm.

Hon Joan Onyemaechi was kidnapped on July 30, 2024, from her Church premises on DBS Road Asaba, where her   driver and police orderly lost their lives with many other people injured, they were said to have escaped with her in a speedboat at the bank of River Niger.
