The Ikeja Division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers on August 6, 2024.
The arrest was made during a routine patrol along Allen-Opebi Road, at around 1:15 am.
This wasn’t the only heist foiled that morning. A separate tactical team stationed in Surulere responded swiftly to a distress call reporting suspicious armed men on Agoro Street, Mushin.
The Police arrived on time to the scene and arrested one Sherrif Mustapha (42) and Suturat Lateef (28), while a third suspect managed to escape.
Following leads from the apprehended individuals, the police raided a location on 1, Moshalashi Street, Mushin. This raid unearthed a significant cache of weapons, including:
* Two AK-47 rifles
* One K2 Assault rifle
* One Red Rufer rifle
* Three pump action rifles
* Two locally made single-barrel pistols
* Five magazines
* A significant amount of ammunition (including live rounds and expended cartridges) for various firearms
* A dagger
* Walkie talkies
* Multiple international passports
However, the Police have stated that the investigation is ongoing while more effort is made to arrest others involved.
