Just In: ECOWAS Defence Chiefs Convene In Abuja

A high-level meeting of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Chiefs of Defence Staff is currently underway at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

The meeting, chaired by Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, is focused on critical security matters within the region. In attendance are key Nigerian officials including Defence Minister Mohammed Badaru, Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, and the Chairmen of the Senate and House Committees on Defence, Ahmed Lawan and [Name withheld] respectively.

Also present are representatives from the National Security Adviser’s office, Nigeria’s service chiefs, and their counterparts from all ECOWAS member states except Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger.
