Protest: Kano Government Relaxes Curfew

The Kano State Government has announced a relaxation of the 24-hour curfew that was imposed on the state.

Recall that earlier today, the Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf announced a restriction of movement from 7pm to 7am in 33 Local Government and 24hrs Curfew in Dutsinma Local Government.

The curfew was put in place due to the escalation of nationwide protests into looting and vandalism of public and private properties in the state

However, the Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Haruna Isah Dederi, made the adjustment on behalf of the Governor on Friday.

According to the State Governor, the curfew will now be in effect from 5pm to 12am, allowing Muslim faithful to attend Friday prayers.

Dederi also expressed hope for continued protection in all their endeavors.
