Israel, Iran Reacts To Assassination Of Hamas Political Chief

In a statement, on Wednesday, the Palestinian group disclosed that Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas’s political leader who lived in exile, was killed after a “treacherous Zionist” attack on his residence.

However, Israel and Iran has reacted to the killing of Haniyeh’s death.

The Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps confirmed Haniyeh’s death, hours after he attended a swearing-in ceremony for the country’s new president Masoud Pezeshkian.

Iran on its part said “The Islamic Republic of Iran will defend its territorial integrity, honour, pride and dignity, and make the terrorist invaders regret their cowardly action,” President Masoud Pezeshkian, whose inauguration Haniyeh was in Tehran to celebrate, said in a post on X.

Meanwhile, Israel’s Minister of Heritage, Amichay Eliyahu, praised the assassination, claiming it “makes the world a little better.”

In a post on X, Eliyahu said: “No mercy for these mortals.”
