Nothing Will Stop Our Protest In August – Sowore To Presidency

Omoyele Sowore, a former African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, informed the President that a protest against poor administration will take place in August.

The claim made by the presidency that Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate, was orchestrating the planned demonstration was dismissed by Omoyele Sowore as “drivel from a sinking regime.”

On Saturday, Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, charged Peter Obi with masterminding demonstrations organized by Nigerians.

According to Onanuga, the demonstration organizers in August are followers of Obi who are still upset that the leader of the Labour Party did not win the 2023 election.

Sowore said the August protest was an idea of Nigerians, and not the former governor of Anambra State. He described Onanuga’s accusation as framing fear.

He said Nigerians are tired of deceit, corruption, wickedness and incompetence of the ruling class.

On his X handle, on Saturday, Sowore said: “The drivel from a sinking regime. There is nothing that could stop an idea whose time has come.

“It doesn’t matter how you frame your fears and shenanigans, and the truth is that Nigerians are tired of the deceit, corruption, wickedness and incompetence of the ruling class and have opted to act from all locations at once.”
