Ex-Senate President, Joseph Waya’s Body Arrives in Nigeria

The body of the former Senate President, Joseph Wayas, has been repatriated to Nigeria, nearly three years after his passing.

The Ex-Senator represented the Northern senatorial district under the auspices of the National Party of Nigeria and served as the Senate President from October 1, 1979, to December 31, 1983.

He passed away in a London hospital on November 30, 2021, at the age of 80 after a prolonged illness.

In a statement released by Dr. Don Cklaimz Enamhe, a council member in the Northern Cross River senatorial district, it was announced that the late politician’s body arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Nigeria, at 4:40 am on Wednesday, coming from Heathrow Airport in London, UK, on board British Airways flight BA 083.

Dr. Enamhe mentioned that this significant event marks the initial step by the Who Is Who In Cross River North Forum to organize a dignified funeral for the late political leader. He also expressed gratitude to the leaders and stakeholders for their collaboration and support.
