First Bank of Nigeria Limited (FirstBank) has announced the appointment of Mr. Olusegun Alebiosu as the Acting Chief Executive Officer, following the resignation of Dr. Adesola Adeduntan.
This appointment is in accordance with the guidelines outlined in The Exchange’s Rulebook (Issuers’ Rules), and has been officially communicated to both the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the investing public.
Mr. Alebiosu’s appointment, effective immediately, is pending approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). With over three decades of extensive banking experience, Alebiosu is well-equipped to lead FirstBank towards its strategic objectives. He previously served as the Executive Director/Chief Risk Officer and played a crucial role in the bank’s transformation over the past eight years.

Prior to his current role, Alebiosu held key positions at various institutions including Coronation Merchant Bank Limited and United Bank for Africa Plc. He is an alumnus of prestigious institutions such as the Harvard School of Government, the University of Lagos, and the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Alebiosu’s professional journey began in 1991 at Oceanic Bank Plc. (now EcoBank Plc.), and since then, he has garnered expertise in areas such as credit risk management, financial planning and control, corporate and commercial banking, among others.
