Why I’m Not Fighting With My Successor like other ex-governors – Umahi

Former Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi, expressed his satisfaction with the continued respect shown to him by his successor, Francis Nwifuru, during an event where he was awarded an honorary doctorate degree by Ebonyi State University in Abakaliki.

Umahi, now serving as Minister of Works, highlighted the rarity of receiving such honor from a successor after leaving office. He attributed this gesture to divine intervention and commended Governor Nwifuru for maintaining a harmonious relationship between past and present leadership in the state.

Umahi praised Nwifuru for his efforts in promoting peace in Ebonyi State and pledged his support to sustain the progress achieved. Drawing parallels to the biblical narrative of David and Solomon, he expressed confidence in Nwifuru’s ability to carry forward initiatives begun during his tenure.

Acknowledging the university’s recognition, Umahi expressed gratitude and pledged his continued commitment to its development. He lauded the university’s achievements under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor and management, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in overcoming challenges and achieving success.
