NAGAFF President Lauds LASG, NPA on Ridding Port Corridor of Trucks, Shanties, Tankers

The President, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Mr. Tochukwu Ezisi, has commended the Lagos State Government and the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) for their collaborative efforts in ridding the port access roads of trucks, shanties and oil tankers.

His commendation came on the heel of ongoing reforms by the duo to restore sanity to the port access roads which have been a haven for extortioners.

While expressing optimism on the impact of the road clearance on Port business, he said that the current situation would raise productivity.

He further added that easy access to and from the port would attract sharp reduction in transportation costs and “reignite port activities”.

It would be recalled that NPA recently resumed rehabilitation work on the Port access road.

Speaking on the sidelines of the unscheduled spot check, Managing Director /CEO of NPA, Mohammed Bello Koko, said, “Our zero tolerance for all forms of impediments to free flow of traffic is no fluke, and we are poised to consolidate the gains we have recorded first in Apapa and now Tin-Can.

“We are grateful to the Honourable Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola (CON) and the Lagos State Governor for the tremendous support we have received in this regard.”
