BREAKING: Ondo APC guber aspirant dies

A prominent aspirant for the governorship under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Paul Akintelure, has sadly passed away.

His demise occurred in the early hours of March 26, 2024.

Just last week, Akintelure had raised alarms about perceived threats on his life, both direct and indirect.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Oladapo Akintelure, the late APC gubernatorial hopeful expressed hope that the situation would improve over time.

However, he expressed concern that the situation had worsened as the APC governorship primary election scheduled for April 25 approached.

He further revealed that he had reported the threats to the relevant security agencies and received intelligence reports and recommendations.

Akintelure served as the running mate to the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu during the 2012 election under the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

He was a medical doctor and hailed from Igbotako, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo state.
