Alphonsus Eba the suspended Chairman of APC in Cross River State has claimed that he is still the Chairman of the party in the state, he dismissed the assertions made by a group that he has been suspended as the helmsman of the ruling party.
It could be recalled that a group who claims to be stakeholders of APC in Cross River State had in a letter signed by Chief Mark Nomba Ayo as Chairman and Chief Mathias Ake as Secretary, announced the indefinite suspension of Eba and appointed James Alicha as the Acting State Chairman.

The group addressed the letter to The National Chairman of APC and copied the state governor, DSS, Commissioner of Police, and Resident Electoral Commissioner. They mentioned several allegations against Eba, which tantamounts to violations of the Constitution of the Party.
The group accused Eba of dictatorship and not carrying stakeholders along in running the affairs of the party in the state.
“We, the undersigned bonafide members and on behalf of Cross River State APC Stakeholders and acting for the overall interest, success and wellbeing of our great party and a majority of our membership across the state, have decided, agreed and undertaken to suspend Alphonsus Eba as State Chairman of our party,” the letter read in part.
Eba however debunked the allegations and reaffirmed himself as the authentic Chairman.
“I am currently in my office. I continue to serve as the chairman of APC in Cross River State.” Eba stated while emphasising that his ability to still occupy the Party Secretariat in the state capital authenticate his position as the authentic Chairman of the party in the state.
He emphasized that if he had been suspended, he would not have access to the state party Secretariat in Calabar, where he currently operates.
