BREAKING: Court Declares Fubara’s N800 Billion Budget Illegal

The N800 billion budget that the Rivers State House of Assembly’s Edison Ehie-led group enacted and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara signed into law has been declared void by a Federal High Court in Abuja.

The court also upheld the lawsuit that Fubara was sued in by the Assembly and Speaker Martin Amaewhule. The lawsuit sought, among other things, an injunction prohibiting the governor from impeding the Assembly while he was speaker

The presiding judge, James Omotosho, held that everything done by the 4 lawmakers was null and void.

The court also recognised Amaewhule as the speaker of the state assembly
