The Matrix Condoles With South-South Bureau Chief, Nelson Utip Over Aunt’s Death

The Matrix Newspaper, one of Nigeria’s leading online and digital newspapers has commiserated with its South-South Bureau Chief, Nelson Utip over the death of his dearly beloved aunt, Madam Effiong Asuquo Akpan.

The late Madam Akpan, fondly referred to as ‘Ma Slessor’ died at the ripe age of 84 years old on July 23^rd, 2023.

In a condolence message, the Board of Editors and entire Matrix Family commiserated with Mr Utip over the reparable loss.

“The death of a dearly loved one is always very difficult to bear, but we are glad and comforted because Madam Akpan lived a very good life and impacted so many people positively going by the deluge of tributes and heartwarming messages that have been pouring in since her demise.

The late Madam Akpan who hailed from Ntiat Itam, Itu, Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom will be laid to rest on Saturday January 13, 2023 at her country home in Ntiat Itam, Itu, after a Funeral Service at PCN Ntiat Itam Parish.

Earlier, on Monday January 8, 2024, she will begin her glorious journey home with the opening of the Mourning House at her country home.

On Friday, January 12, 2024, her friends and loved ones will gather at her country home to pay their last respects to her in a Friends Night program before the climax of activities which is her interment at her compound on Saturday, January 13, 2024.
