INEC Discusses False Results in Kogi During the Current Voting Process

YIAGA Africa, a civil society organization, alerted the public on Saturday morning after learning of election results from a Kogi polling place before the polls were closed.

According to reports, Polling Unit 004 in Eni Ward, Ogori/Mangogo, Kogi State, was the source of the results.

This assertion was made by Yiaga Africa in a post on X on its account, @YIAGA.

It demanded that the results be looked at by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The electoral umpires said in a statement via X that the matter was serious and that senior officials who had been sent to Kogi State are looking into the incident.

The statement reads, “Our attention has been drawn to a report that filled result sheets were discovered in some polling units in Kogi State.

“The Commission views this situation seriously.

“Our senior officials deployed to the State are currently investigating the incident(s). The Commission will communicate its decision earnestly.”
