Hilda Baci’s Reign Ends As Irish Chef Breaks Longest Cooking Marathon Record

The reign of Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci as the holder of the longest cooking marathon title has come to an end as an Irish chef Alan Fisher has dethroned the Nigerian.

Fisher, who is a restaurant owner and a chef in Japan, broke two cooking-related Guinness World Records titles.

He claimed the longest cooking marathon (individual) after clocking in a time of 119 hours 57 minutes. That is more than 24 hours longer than the previous record held by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.

Alan then claimed the longest baking marathon (individual), with a time of 47 hours 21 minutes. The previous record holder was Wendy Sandner (USA) with a time of 31 hours 16 minutes.

The Matrix recalls that Hilda, a 26-year-old chef was on Tuesday, June 13, officially declared the Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon.

Hilda attempted to set a record of 100 hours but almost seven hours were deducted from her final total because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.

She prepared over 100 pots of food during the contest, to beat the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes set by Indian Chef, Lata Tondon in 2019.
