On Monday, the Supreme Court declared that President Bola Tinubu’s certificate contains contradictory letters from Chicago State University (CSU). During the hearing of Atiku Abubakar’s suit, which he had filed to overturn President Bola Tinubu’s victory, the chairman of the seven-member panel of the highest court, Justice John Okoro, made this statement. According to Justice Okoro, one of the letters validates the President’s certificate, while the other one casts doubt on it.
The lead justice of the panel, therefore, said criminal matters have to be proven beyond reasonable doubt.
“But in this case, there are two conflicting letters from the CSU – one authenticating the president’s certificate and another discrediting it. Which do we rely on?” he asked.
