Army Admits Nigeria Is Under Terrorism Attack Influence As It Recruits 6,315

As part of its attempts to bolster its manpower and address the security concerns facing the nation, the Nigerian Army has enlisted 6,315 new soldiers.

 

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, stated during the passing-out parade of the 85th Regular Intake recruits from the Nigerian Army Depot, Zaria, Kaduna State, on Saturday that the recruits will supplement the Nigerian military’s manpower needs with capable and combat-ready young soldiers.

He reminded them that they are enlisting in the military at a time when the nation is dealing with numerous security issues, all of which called for their patriotism

The Army chief therefore urged them to uphold the values of loyalty, discipline, and selfless service, adding that a lot is expected from them.
The COAS is also assuring Nigerians that the military will not rest on its oars until the country is safe from the threats of terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal elements threatening the peace and stability of the country.
Their passing-out parade from the Nigerian Army Depot marks the beginning of their military career.
The highlight of the parade is the presentation of banners to the champion battalion and awards to deserving recruits.
Nigeria like many countries in the West African subregion is facing numerous security challenges occasioned by activities of Boko Haram terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, secessionists, and other criminal elements.
However, the optimism here is that the recruitment of over six thousand new soldiers into the force will impact positively in the ongoing military operations across the country.
