46 Suspected Internet Scammers Arrested in Calabar, Eket.

46 internet scammers have been napped by The Economic and Financial Crimes  Commission (EFCC) in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, and Eket in Akwa Ibom State.

The Commission’s  Head, Media and Publicity ,  Dele Oyewale made this known in a statement issued in Uyo , Akwa Ibom State yesterday Wednesday the 18th day of October.

According to Oyewale, the arrests were made based on intelligence, the Calabar suspects were apprehended on October 13, 2023, while their Eket cohorts were arrested on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

He explained that 22 suspects arrested in Calabar are,  David Boniface Akani, Johnson Umuke, James Michael, Akeke Favour, Enange Benard, Godson Ubi, Eddie Godson, Eyo Jesse Bassey, Joachim Omuyeh, Dickson Abang.

Also arrested are Ikora Sunny, Emmanuel Godwin, Dannis Lipeunim, Agwazia Sunny Henry, Abang Emmanuel, Godspower Eyan, Elena Samuel, Adie Godson, Chisom Stanley, Nonso Solomon, Eyam Daniel Okpa and Aka Richard.

24,  scammers arrested in Eket are Ofonime John Etukudo, Nsisong Udoh, Saviour Daniel, Sampson Sunday, Joshua James Michael, Paul Edet Etiemana, Archibong Okomobong Bassey, Inemesit Akin Bassey, Edidiong Aniete Tom, Ebowusim Chifia Aslem, Nwanchukwu Ebenezer Chinonso,  Archibong Alfred Archibong, Itauma Uforotobong Richard, Bassey David Nicholas, Chidozie Ikechukwu, Japhet Linus Akwaowo,Victor Evans, Fortune Udia, Benjamin Amos, Prince Augustine, David Daniel, Augustine Obinna, Udeme Unanaowo Unanaowo and Obinnaya Jide.

The Media Head of The EFCC said the items recovered from the fraudsters  include sophisticated mobile phones, six exotic cars and laptops. The   suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded according to him.
