Fresh Pledges As Aisha Rimi Assumes Office As New NIPC CEO

Aisha Rimi, the recently appointed Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), has stated her dedication to promoting strategic investments in order to advance Nigeria’s economy.
This statement was delivered by Rimi in her first speech after taking office on Monday at the NIPC headquarters in Abuja.
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Rimi as one of several people.The nomination of a new leadership team for 12 agencies and parastatals within the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment was authorized by the Nigerian leader last Friday, marking a significant reform. Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, verified the appointments in a statement.Upon returning to work today, Rimi gave an address to the NIPC workforce and promised to restructure the commission to draw in new foreign investment streams into Nigeria in order to support the government’s declining revenue and create much-needed jobs.

She also expressed her gratitude to the president for granting her the opportunity to support the nation’s economic expansion.

“First, I am grateful to Mr President for this opportunity because there are over 100 million persons who could be doing this job.

“So I don’t take it lightly, and I don’t take it for granted.

“It is a task I don’t take lightly because NIPC is the gateway to Nigeria, and without a functional, operational, and efficient NIPC, investment will just amount to nothing.

“We are not just here to promote but also to facilitate, and if we succeed, Nigeria will succeed. I am too old to japa, and I can’t go anywhere,” The PUNCH quoted the NIPC boss saying.

Rimi is taking over from Hajja Wakil, who was serving in an acting capacity.
