Finance Minister, Wale Edun Gets World Bank Appointment

Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, has assumed the role of Chairman for the African Governors’ Forum of the World Bank.

The African Governors’ Forum serves as a vital platform for finance ministers and central bank governors from across the African continent to foster dialogue and collaboration with the World Bank on matters of shared concern.

In an official statement released on the Ministry of Finance’s X page, it was highlighted that Edun’s appointment marks a significant milestone as the first of its kind for Nigeria.

“The appointment represents a distinct and unprecedented opportunity for Nigeria in advancing the implementation of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement underscored.
