International Friendly: Super Eagles, Saudi Arabia Settle For Stalemate

Super Eagles were held to a stalemate by Saudi Arabia in a friendly match the Nigerians could have won comfortably in Portugal.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria had come from a goal down to lead 1-2 before Saudi Arabia equalised at the last minute of added time.

Nigeria went behind through a mistake from the keeper, Francis Uzoho who attempted to parry the ball away but ended up guiding the ball into his own net.

Coach Paseiro’s boys exhibited an all-around captivating display with good passes and teamwork from the very first minute into the game but would be ruing their mistake at the last minute.

An own goal from Abdulelah Al Amri after being pressurized by Victor Boniface and a brilliant goal from Kelechi Iheanacho put Nigeria on a strong footing but a late freekick at the last minute of added time ensured that the two teams shared the spoil.

Coach Paseiro should be proud of his boys after showing composure despite going down early in first half.
