Nigerian Army CDS, Musa, Mandates Troops To Go After Terrorist

The Nigerian Army has been asked by its Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Christopher Musa, to take the initiative and pursue Boko Haram militants.

Speaking to the soldiers of Operation Hadin Kai on Tuesday at the Maimalari cantonment in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state, the CDS advised them to pursue and eliminate the Boko Haram terrorists rather than waiting for them to launch an attack.

According to Musa, it is improper for the soldiers to slumber in the theater and wait for an attack before taking action. Any soldier who enters the theater without eliminating at least one terrorist, in his words, is incomplete.

The CDS made the point that the war would soon come to an end if the terrorists were pursued.

He urged, “Don’t just come and sleep in the theater; make sure you hunt down and kill Boko Haram.”

“Anyone who attends a theater and leaves without eliminating even one member of Boko Haram is not whole.”

 “So you must make sure before you go, look for them, that’s the only way we can finish them completely.

“They should not be looking for us, we should be looking for them.

“Do not go and sit down until they attack and we repel, there is nothing like repel, go and find and kill them.”

Speaking further, Musa conveyed the best wishes of President Bola Tinubu to the troops who are sacrificing their comfort to keep the nation safe.

He pointed out that President Tinubu recognises the sacrifices and commitment of the troops in the fight against insurgency.

“The president said he is happy with us and wishes us all the very best,” he added.

“He also reminds us that it is not yet over but that we are moving on the right track.

 “If we continue the way we are going, very soon Boko Haram will come to an end.”
