Tinubu Presides Over FEC Monday

President Bola Tinubu is reportedly scheduled to convene a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Monday, the 16th of October, 2023. This will mark the second time during his tenure as president that he has presided over a FEC meeting. The first meeting took place on the 28th of August, following the swearing-in of new ministers on August 21, which occurred at the Conference Hall in the State House, Abuja.

According to information from The Nation, it is highly unlikely that there will be any last-minute changes to the schedule, and President Tinubu is expected to lead the FEC meeting tomorrow. The source cited in the report stated, “It is holding tomorrow, at least that’s the last I heard and the likelihood of any change is really slim. Mr. The President will be presiding over the FEC for the second time. It should start by 12 pm, and ministers are expected to have arrived before that time.”

While the specific agenda of the meeting remains undisclosed, it is speculated that the FEC may be considering the ratification of some previously approved projects and policies for various ministries. Notably, in recent days, President Tinubu granted approvals for projects and policies in the Ministries of Works and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

It’s worth mentioning that this change in scheduling the FEC meeting from Wednesdays, as was the tradition under previous administrations, to Mondays reflects a shift in the way President Tinubu conducts his cabinet meetings.
