How I Lost Five Children in Rivers Boat Mishap, Father Narrates

In Ngo Town, located within the Andoni local government area of Rivers State, Pastor Promise Festus, a father, has shared his anguish, disclosing that his five children were among the victims of the boat accident that occurred on the Andoni-Bonny waterways.

He described his world as shattered and appealed to the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and the chairman of his local government area for assistance.

Pastor Festus  in a viral videosaid: “I went to celebrate Christmas with my people. So on the way coming back, January 8, I loaded people, who had no money to pay for transport with my family, accidentally, our boat capsized in front of the LNG, where there was no rescue, so about eleven people died and out of that eleven people, five are my sons and daughters, five are my children.

“We lost everything and there is no way for me to even survive. Everything in my life; phone, money that I will carry to survive myself. Everything; my boat and other things. No business, no way, the way to start I don’t know.

“In my presence my children died. I want the state government and Andoni Local Government to assist me. To forgive any sin that I committed and assist me.”
