2027: Only God Decides Who Leads — Gov. Abba Yusuf

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, says his political future in 2027 rests solely in God’s hands, not man’s.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Shura Council, the governor stressed that leadership is divinely ordained.

“In 2023, many wrote me off, but God made me governor,” Yusuf said in a statement by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature. “Leadership is never in the hands of man. God installs and removes leaders as He wishes.”

Reflecting on the turbulence that followed his 2023 election victory, Yusuf said the trials only strengthened his resolve to transform Kano.

“Whether I seek re-election or not, my duty is to deliver meaningful programmes for the people,” he affirmed, adding that he was committed to physical, social, and moral reforms in the state.

The governor also expressed concern about youth involvement in drugs and thuggery, announcing plans for a women’s reformatory institution to tackle social vices.

He urged religious leaders to support the government’s mission to uplift society.
