No Rift With Ooni, Says Alaafin Of Oyo

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, has denied rumours of a rift with the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, following social media speculation over his recent visit to the Oluwo of Iwo.

In a viral video, Oba Owoade clarified that he had planned to visit the Ooni but the trip was postponed due to the Ooni’s travel to Kazakhstan. He dismissed the tension rumours as baseless and driven by misinformation.

“There’s no conflict between us,” he said, adding that he had even spoken to the Ooni during a recent meeting with the Soun of Ogbomoso.

He urged the public to ignore false narratives and avoid being swayed by mischief makers.
