Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has vacated the Government House in Port Harcourt along with his family and security details.
According to a close source who requested anonymity, Fubara left the seat of power on Wednesday morning.

His departure comes in the wake of President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in the state.
Despite his exit, security at the Government House remains minimal, with two Armoured Personnel Carriers still stationed in front of the premises alongside a small number of security operatives.

As of the time of reporting, normal activities were ongoing in Port Harcourt and its surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas (retd.), had yet to assume office as of 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday.
However, preparations for his arrival were underway, with about 15 soldiers spotted inside the Government House premises.
