Popular comedian and content creator, Isaac Aloma, widely known as Zicsaloma, has opened up about his recent rhinoplasty in Turkey, revealing that he did not personally fund the procedure.
In a YouTube video posted on Friday, Zicsaloma clarified that the surgery was part of a collaboration with the hospital.
“I didn’t pay for the procedure. I wouldn’t call it free, but it was a partnership between me and the hospital,” he explained.
“The only expenses I covered were my visa and flight to Turkey. I underwent a nose job and also had a slight eye lift.”
The comedian shared that he first noticed the hospital through Instagram and TikTok, particularly because they had experience performing surgeries on Black individuals.
“When I inquired about the cost, they mentioned my large following and proposed a collaboration,” he said.
Before agreeing, Zicsaloma conducted thorough research on the doctor. He noted that the consultation fee typically ranged between $300 and $400, while rhinoplasty costs between $5,000 and $6,000.
The eye rejuvenation and temporary facelift procedures were priced at approximately $2,500 each.
“I didn’t pay for the consultation. During the video call, the doctor assured me I would look better with a nose job. I asked about potential risks, and he explained that complications such as infection and bleeding occur in only one out of a thousand cases. If anything went wrong, the worst-case scenario would be a revision surgery.”
He also specified that he wanted an “ethnic rhinoplasty” to maintain his African features rather than making his nose too pointy.
Zicsaloma arrived in Turkey alone on January 23, 2025, and underwent surgery the following day. Since then, he has faced criticism from those who claim the procedure reflects low self-esteem.
In response, he admitted to feeling insecure about his nose since childhood.
“I’ve always had a very flat nose, and I was constantly ridiculed for it. My siblings would call it ugly and too big. I inherited my father’s nose in excess,” he said.
However, he defended his decision, arguing that everyone has insecurities, whether it’s about weight, posture, or other physical traits.
“Some people can’t wear certain clothes because they have a big stomach or bowlegs. The only difference is access to solutions. Some people don’t get surgeries because they can’t afford them or fear public criticism.”
He emphasized that making a personal change does not give others the right to judge.
While some critics have pointed out other aspects of his appearance, such as his forehead or mouth, Zicsaloma dismissed these concerns.
“I have no issues with my forehead or mouth. If you think my lips are too big, that’s your opinion. Many people pay for lip fillers to have fuller lips like mine. The only thing I wanted to change was my nose, and I’ve done that.”
On concerns about his children inheriting his old nose, he responded:
“What if they like their nose? They are not me. Let them come with the old nose. Who says I even want biological children? I might choose to adopt. Either way, leave my kids out of it.”
Zicsaloma noted that the full results of his surgery would take one to two years to settle. Despite the backlash, he remains confident in his decision and has no intention of undergoing further cosmetic procedures.
