Obasa Breaks Silence On Impeachment, Denies Corruption Allegations

The impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has rejected the process that led to his removal, insisting that lawmakers failed to follow constitutional procedures.

Speaking publicly for the first time since his impeachment, Obasa addressed a large crowd of supporters at the Speaker’s Lodge in Ikeja GRA on Saturday.

He dismissed allegations of financial misappropriation leveled against him, calling them “impossible.”

My status in the house? I strongly believe I am still the speaker until the right thing is done. If you want to remove me, do it the proper way, and I will not contest it,” he said
