Nigerian comedian and Nollywood actor, Bovi Ugboma, has opened up about his parenting philosophy, sharing how his son, Chuchu, used to break televisions out of anger but has since learned to manage his emotions.
Speaking during an interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast, co-hosted by Nedu and others, Bovi expressed his belief in gentle parenting and why he does not support physically disciplining children.
Recalling his parenting challenges, Bovi revealed, “My son Chuchu used to break televisions when angry. He’s broken three TVs—he would throw things whenever he got upset. But over time, he started to show remorse and eventually stopped.”
The comedian highlighted the importance of patience and understanding in raising children, adding, “Thank God for capacity. If I couldn’t afford another TV, my approach might have been different.”
Bovi emphasized that allowing children to learn and grow without physical discipline fosters better emotional development.
