Femi Kuti Labels Yoruba Leaders As Family’s Greatest Enemies

Afrobeat icon Femi Kuti, during the 2024 Felaberation Festival in Lagos, revealed that some of his family’s most significant adversaries come from their own ethnic group, the Yoruba.

He singled out former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the late business mogul, MKO Abiola, as key opponents of the Kuti family.

Kuti emphasized that his family does not engage in tribalism, having been influenced by pan-Africanists like Kwame Nkrumah and Marcus Garvey.

He urged against associating the Anikulapo-Kuti family with ethnic strife, stating, “We are not tribalistic in our family.”
