NYSC To Issue Certificates To Corps Members Held Hostage by Bandits

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced plans to issue certificates of discharge to corps members who were unable to complete their mandatory one-year service due to being held hostage by bandits.

In a statement released by the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, the scheme acknowledged the unfortunate circumstances faced by these corps members and expressed its commitment to ensuring their well-being and academic progress.

The decision to issue certificates of discharge to the affected corps members comes in response to the increasing incidents of kidnapping and hostage-taking in parts of the country, which have prevented many young Nigerians from fulfilling their civic duty.

The NYSC has assured the corps members that the certificates will be equivalent to those issued to those who successfully completed their service year.
