Tinubu Returns To Abuja After AU Meeting In Ghana

Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived back in Abuja on Sunday evening after attending the 6th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union (AU) in Accra, Ghana.

He was received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by senior government officials.

The President who was recently Re-elected as Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), provided updates on the regional organization’s developments. In his speech, he highlighted ECOWAS’ achievements and challenges, including progress in counter-terrorism, electoral support, economic integration, and humanitarian efforts.

Tinubu showcased ECOWAS’ activation of a Standby Force to counter-terrorism, support for member states in enhancing electoral and governance processes, and implementation of activities to consolidate the free trade area.
