Former spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign in the February 2023 election, Daniel Bwala, has urged Nigerians to maintain optimism, asserting that President Tinubu is actively working to enhance the nation’s economy. Bwala conveyed this message through a post on his X page on Friday, February 16.

In his statement, he emphasized the importance of staying hopeful, highlighting President Tinubu’s efforts in addressing economic and security challenges. Bwala commended the President for his proactive approach, which involves engaging with various stakeholders, making crucial decisions, and extending support to the federating units to enhance the well-being of their citizens. He stressed the significance of state governments utilizing the increased revenue from the removal of fuel subsidies to uplift the living standards of their people.

Furthermore, Bwala invoked an Igbo adage, “Madu kan naya” (meaning “man is the enemy of man”), to underscore the importance of traders and businessmen avoiding speculative practices and hoarding essential commodities. He criticized those who engage in such activities while blaming the economy, emphasizing that free trade fosters economic growth, where prices are determined by market forces rather than artificial shortages.

Overall, Bwala’s message underscores the need for collective optimism, responsible governance at both federal and state levels, and ethical business practices to foster economic prosperity in Nigeria.
